HOW IT HAPPENED
-
Daemen set the tone early, capitalizing on turnovers and fast-break opportunities to open the game on a 13–0 run. Franklin Pierce struggled to find its rhythm offensively in the opening quarter, as the Wildcats built a 26–6 advantage after 10 minutes of play.
-
The Ravens showed improved ball movement and energy in the second quarter, highlighted by baskets from Emily Mennillo (Orange, Conn.) and Liv Murray (Salem, N.H.), but Daemen continued to control the tempo and extended its lead into halftime, 42–15.
-
Coming out of the break, Franklin Pierce found more success attacking the paint and getting to the free-throw line. Laia Llorente (Madrid, Spain) knocked down a three early in the third, while Mennillo added points inside, but Daemen answered with efficient shooting to maintain its cushion.
- The Ravens continued to compete in the fourth quarter, outscoring Daemen 15–14 over the final 10 minutes. Despite the late push, the Wildcats held on for the 76–42 final.
