HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Franklin Pierce came out sharp, shooting over 64% in the first quarter while trading baskets with the Greyhounds in a fast-paced opening stretch. Emily Mennillo (Orange, Conn.) set the tone early and helped keep the game level at 20–20 after one.
  • Assumption used a strong second quarter to swing momentum, outscoring the Ravens 27–15 behind timely perimeter shooting and a series of transition baskets that opened up a double-digit lead heading into halftime.
  • The Ravens responded well in the third, tightening the defensive pressure and finding production from Armani Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.), Lova Engren Wiorek (Stockholm, Sweden), and Laia Llorente (Madrid, Spain). Franklin Pierce outscored Assumption 15–13 in the frame and trimmed the margin to 60–50 entering the fourth.
  • Despite generating high-percentage looks down the stretch, the Ravens were unable to chip further into the deficit as Assumption held steady in the final period to secure the home win.
