HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Ravens opened the night with strong defensive energy and traded points early with the Eagles, pulling within 20–21 late in the first set behind kills from Avery LeBlanc (Exeter, R.I.) and Katholiki Koukia (Rhodes, Greece). However, Post closed on a 4–1 run to secure the opener, 25–21.
  • Set two featured eight ties and five lead changes, as both sides traded runs. Franklin Pierce built an early 7–0 lead with key points from LeBlanc and Jayne Hiatt (Granby, Conn.), but Post stormed back to even the score at 16–16. The set remained tight until late, when the Eagles capitalized on a pair of Raven attack errors to edge out a 25–23 victory and take a 2–0 match lead.
  • The Ravens refused to go away quietly, putting together their best frame of the night in set three. Behind steady setting from Annaka Lindstrom (Dudley, Mass.), LeBlanc delivered a series of kills that helped the Ravens take control midway through the set. Strong blocking from Koukia and Martina Spackova (Bratislava, Slovakia) sealed the 25–21 win to force a fourth.
  • Post regained momentum in the final frame, jumping out to an early lead and never allowing the Ravens closer than three points the rest of the way. Despite late kills from LeBlanc and Lindstrom, the Eagles closed out the match with a 25–18 decision.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • LeBlanc paced the Ravens with 14 kills and added two service aces for a match-high 18.0 points. Koukia chipped in nine kills with a team-best .222 hitting percentage and five block assists.
  • Lindstrom posted 24 assists and contributed defensively with 12 digs and four block assists. Spackova anchored the net with four solo blocks and four block assists, finishing with eight points.
  • In the back row, Julia Felgenhauer (Bolivar, Ohio) tallied 10 digs, while Payton Stupavsky (Quincy, Ill.) led all players with 14 digs.
