Waltham, Mass. (9/8/25) - The Franklin Pierce men's soccer team fell 2-0 at Bentley University. Despite moving to 1-1 in their season record, their Northeast 10 Conference record remains untouched on the season.
The first half saw a tightly contested battle, with both teams looking to maintain control. Pierce showed strong defensive organization, led by David Skordumov in net. In the first 45 minutes of play, both teams had offensive opportunities, putting up 6 shots a piece.
Despite out-shooting Bentley 6 to 3 in the second half, the Falcons were able to capitalize on their limited opportunities, finding the back of the net twice.
Following the scoreless first half, the Ravens' momentum fell in the second half, letting up a goal in the 58th minute of the game. The goal came off a corner kick from Antonio Santos, which Finn Bride headed into the back of the net, putting the Falcons up 1-0.
Pierce looked to find an equalizer, with offensive push from their midfielders and attackers were met with limited space from the Falcons. Bentley's second goal came in the 84th minute in a quick transition. A long goal kick from Cam Hall found Daimon Pollard down the field, who found Will McManus. McManus ultimately found the back of the net, putting the score up 2-0 for the Falcons.
Despite the score deficit, Franklin Pierce's defense battled through the final minutes of the game. Julen Martin and Nick Armour stood firm in the backfield for Pierce, blocking Bentley's attempt to extend the lead.
Franklin Pierce men's soccer looks ahead to their first home game of the season this Sunday, September 14, at noon when they will take on #11 Felician University.
