HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Falcons started the scoring in the bottom of the 1st inning. Jordan Krause flied out to right field and scored Jess Morrison on a sacrifice fly to go up 1-0.

  • The 2nd inning was a disaster for the Ravens. Michelle Diaz crushed a 3-RBI double to left field to give them the 4-0 lead. Then, Bella Burke scored another run with a sacrifice fly to left field. The Falcons took a commanding 5-0 lead after 2 innings.

  • The Falcons continued to fire and put the game out of reach in the 3rd inning. Kim Saunders clobbered a 2-run homer to left field to give the Falcons the 7-0 lead.

  • The Ravens showed signs of life in the top of the 7th inning. Senior third baseman Lita Vorseth (Mesa, Ariz.) lifted a single into center field to score senior first baseman Anna Erikson (Temecula, Calif.) and senior shortstop Hailey Bigwood (Athol, Mass.), cutting the deficit to 7-2. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough for the Ravens and their season came to an end.
