HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Ravens started the game off hot, scoring a quick goal in the first five minutes. Redshirt first-year forward Brynn Levinson (Glencoe, IL) completed a stretch pass to junior forward Anna Caumo (Brunico, Italy) who buried the puck in the back of the net off a breakaway chance. The Ravens would hold onto a 1-0 for the rest of the first period.
  • In the next period, the Ravens quickly extended their lead. Brynn Levinson found a loose puck in front of the net and snuck it past Stonehill's Alexsa Caron to put the Ravens up 2-0. The Skyhawks responded later in the period with a power-play goal from Grace Sacca making it 2-1 entering the third period.
  • Skyhawks forward Maddison Achtyl then took advantage of a late Ravens penalty in the second period and scored her second goal of the game on a power play that bled over into the third period. The score remained 2-2 for the rest of regulation.
  • In overtime, junior defender Maggie Korneta (Naperville, IL) drew a penalty on Stonehill's Maeve Connolly forcing a 4-3 power play. After a face-off win, Brynn Levinson punched the puck in the net for the game-winner.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • The Skyhawks heavily outshot the Ravens in the game, shooting 47 shots on goal to the Ravens' 29.
  • The Skyhawks went 2 for 4 on the power play while the Ravens went 1 for 3 with the extra skater.
