WEST CHESTER P.A. (12/6/2025) - Franklin Pierce defeated West Chester 3-2 in overtime behind Olivia Crespo and McKenna McGuire to advance to the NCAA Semifinals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In just the 6th minute of play, McGuire took the ball to the baseline just wide of the net, and sent it in to Crespo, who was just inside the goal post. Crespo took one quick touch to find the back of the net and give the Ravens the early lead.
- Ten minutes later, McGuire took the ball herself, beating the last defenders, sending the ball low to put the Ravens ahead 2-0.
- In the 37th minute, Samatha Breton was given her second yellow card of the game, forcing the Ravens to go player-down for the remainder of the game.
- With two minutes left in the first half, the Golden Rams capitalized on their player-up opportunity, lessening the deficit to one goal.
- The Rams kept their momentum going, and scored again in the 55th minute to tie the game at 2.
- Both teams held strong for the remainder of regulation, forcing overtime play.
- Just 23 into overtime, Maguire and Crespo doubled down. From the top of the box, Maguire sent the ball to Crespo who crossed the ball finding the back of the net to finish the game.
