HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The opening quarter was defined by Dartmouth's perimeter shooting, as the Big Green connected from deep, while Franklin Pierce answered with baskets from Liv Murray (Salem, N.H.), Paula Falcon Luque (Malaga, Spain), and Emily Mennillo (Orange, Conn.) to keep the game tight through the first 10 minutes.
  • The second quarter saw Franklin Pierce find its rhythm offensively, sparked by a three from Armani Rivera (Pawtucket, R.I.) and a pair of triples from Angelisse Melendez (North Providence, R.I.), while Laia Llorente (Madrid, Spain) added scoring inside, but Dartmouth edged the frame 23–19 behind steady production from Debra Hill.
  • The third quarter was fueled by Dartmouth's hot shooting from beyond the arc, as Nina Minicozzi and Zeynep Ozel combined for multiple three-pointers, while Franklin Pierce countered with baskets from Melendez, Rivera, Jaylene Pires (Yarmouth Port, Mass.), and Mennillo, but the Big Green extended the lead to 51–34 by the end of the period.
  • The fourth quarter saw Franklin Pierce continue to battle offensively behind a strong scoring stretch from Mennillo, who connected on multiple jumpers and a late three, while Edisha Galan (Manchester, Conn.) and Rivera added baskets inside, but Dartmouth maintained control through balanced scoring and free throws to close out the game with a 68–50 victory.
