Franklin Pierce Falls to St. Anselm at Home, 68–55

RINDGE, N.H. (11/25/25) – The Franklin Pierce University men's basketball team made its long-awaited home debut on Tuesday evening inside The Fieldhouse, but despite multiple second-half pushes, the Ravens were handed a 68–55 setback by visiting Saint Anselm

Score: St. Anselm 68, Franklin Pierce 55
Records: Franklin Pierce (2–2), St. Anselm (4–1)
Location: The Fieldhouse – Rindge, N.H.
Date: November 25, 2025

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Ravens opened their home slate with energy, jumping ahead 11–7 early in the first half behind a three from Dylan Goodman and steady interior play from Kayvontay Williams. Franklin Pierce forced several early turnovers and used three offensive rebounds in the opening minutes to build momentum. But once the score reached 11–7, St. Anselm responded with a key defensive stretch, holding the Ravens without a field goal for over two minutes and piecing together a 10–4 run to move ahead 17–13.
  • Raymond Baka kept Franklin Pierce within striking distance throughout the half, converting multiple drives and put-backs—including a tip-in at 8:45 and a fast-break finish off a Williams assist at 3:03—to pull the Ravens back within one possession multiple times. However, St. Anselm's Jack Medalie and Jovan Ristic countered each Pierce push, combining for 20 first-half points and helping the Hawks stretch their lead to 33–25 at the break.
  • In the second half, the Ravens continued to attack the paint and turned defensive stops into transition opportunities. After trailing by 10 early, Franklin Pierce generated a spark with an 8–2 run fueled by Baka, Williams, and a key steal-and-score sequence from Dylan Goodman off an Erick Perez takeaway. Williams' layup at the 7:51 mark capped the surge and pulled the Ravens within 52–48, the closest they had been since early in the first half.
  • But St. Anselm answered immediately. Medalie scored on a jumper, and consecutive defensive stops allowed the Hawks to rebuild the margin. Despite a strong defensive stand—highlighted by two blocks from Williams and Baka—Franklin Pierce couldn't convert on the offensive end during the ensuing possessions. The Hawks closed the game on a 16–7 stretch, fueled by second-chance baskets and 7-for-7 free-throw shooting over the final three minutes, ultimately sealing the 68–55 final.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
  • Raymond Baka finished with a team-high 16 points, adding 12 rebounds for a double-double while shooting 7-for-15.
  • As a team, the Ravens outrebounded the Hawks 44–37 but struggled from three-point range (3-for-18) and shot 32% overall.
  • St. Anselm's Jack Medalie paced all scorers with 23 points.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens now turn their attention to the 2025 NCAA Northern Classic, held November 28–30 at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec. Franklin Pierce opens the three-day event on Friday at 5:00 p.m. with Fordham.
