HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Ravens struck first in the opening period, capitalizing on a Skyhawks boarding penalty. Maggie Korneta (Naperville, Ill.) carried the puck down the ice and fired in the game's first goal.
  • In the second period, the Skyhawks answered back when Gracie Sacca found a wide-open Madison Achtyl in front of the Ravens' net for the equalizer.
  • The Skyhawks then pulled ahead for the first time on a power-play opportunity after Melanie Targosz (Livonia, Mich.) was sent to the box for hooking.
  • Early in the third period, the Ravens evened things up on a power play of their own as Abigail Broz (White Bear Lake, Minn.) beat Eve Stone for her first collegiate goal.
  • Later, Jenna Sharland (San Jose, Calif.) intercepted a Skyhawks pass and walked the puck straight into the net, briefly restoring the Ravens' lead. That advantage didn't last long as Sydney Russell netted her second goal of the night, followed by Mia Kenmore, putting the Skyhawks back in front.
  • With time winding down, Brynn Levinson (Glencoe, Ill.) circled behind the net and delivered a perfect pass to Emma Laroche (Highgate, Vt.), who buried the equalizer.
  • With the game still level at the end of regulation, the game entered overtime, but it wasn't for long as Levinson found the game-winner just 21 seconds into extra play.
