HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening half saw chances at both ends, but neither side was able to break through as the teams entered halftime scoreless.
- Saint Michael's struck first early in the second half. Sarah Gormley lifted a ball into the box toward Delaney Kleinman, who headed it forward to Scarlett Brookes. Brookes took a touch and placed her shot past Ryan Rosario (Holbrook, N.Y.) to give the Purple Knights a 1–0 advantage.
- Franklin Pierce wasted no time finding the equalizer. Just 17 seconds later, Jenni Huttunen (Tuusula, Finland) started the buildup, connecting with Olivia Crespo (Ludlow, Mass.), who slipped a pass through to a sprinting Claudia Peirce (Carver, Mass.). Peirce beat her defender and fired home the tying goal to make it 1–1.
- With four minutes remaining and the match still level, McKenna Maguire (Brookline, N.H.) drew a penalty. Huttunen stepped to the spot and buried her attempt off the left post and in, lifting the Ravens to a 2–1 lead and securing their place in the NE10 Championship Final.
