HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Ravens struck early in the seventh minute when a high cross ball from Borja Blazquez found the foot of Stepan Fiker in front of the Adelphi net. Fiker took one touch and drilled the ball into the low left corner putting the Ravens up 1-0.
  • Following a Panthers attack up the left side of the field, the Ravens were able to clear it out of their defensive zone on a long ball from Blazquez, who found Guillermo Avendano up the field. Avendano took one touch to beat the last defender, creating a 2v1 situation with Adelphi's goalie, Andrea Farinella. He crossed the ball to Guillermo Rios who netted the second goal for the Ravens in the ninth minute.
  • In the 29th minute, Farinella looked to clear the ball, which found the head of a Raven in the middle of the field, who restarted the Franklin Pierce attack. Joao Araujo found the ball and took it himself to get past the keeper, bringing the goal differential to 3-0.
  • The first half closed out with an own-goal for the Panthers, putting the Ravens ahead 4-0 going into the second.
  • Adelphi continued to fight through the end, putting themselves on the board in the 86th minute. Richard DeBrosse took a rebound opportunity to find the left corner of the net.
