Lindstrom Inches Closer to 2,000 Career Assists in 3-1 Loss to Yellow Jackets

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (10/7/25) - The senior setter, Annaka Lindstrom (Dudley, MA), will have to wait one more game after a 24-assist performance placed her one assist away from 2000 career assists during the volleyball team's 3-1 loss to the American International Yellowjackets on Tuesday.

Score: Franklin Pierce 1, American International 3 (11-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-25)
Records: Franklin Pierce 4-10 (0-1 NE10), American International 9-3 (1-0 NE10)
Location: Henry A. Butova Gymnasium, Springfield, MA
Date: October 7, 2025

HOW IT HAPPENED

The 24-assist night for Lindstrom formally places her at 1,999 assists in her career. She will very likely eclipse this goal in the Ravens' upcoming home game against the Setters. When she does so, she will become the fifth Raven in Franklin Pierce Volleyball history to have 2,000 assists or more in their career.

However, the match against American International was not what the Ravens had hoped. The Yellowjackets started the game hot, taking the first set 25-11 and putting the Ravens on their heels early. It was here that AIC's Paola Soto-Burgos began her fantastic night, scoring six of her 13 kills in the first set.

The Yellowjackets set the tone, but the Ravens responded with a solid second set. Sophomore outside hitter Adrianna Reay (Bristol, CT) and Senior outside hitter Katholiki Koukia (Rhodes, Greece) combined for five kills in the set, but the biggest help to the Ravens offensively was the Yellowjackets' nine errors in the second set.

After the Ravens took the second set to even up the match, they ran out of steam. The third set was tightly contested, with Lindstrom paving her way to six kills on the night, and freshman outside hitter Jayne Hiatt (Granby, CT) getting closer to her seven kills in the match. However, the Yellowjackets' 12 kills in the third set proved to be too much for the Ravens.

That gave the Yellowjackets all the momentum going into the fourth set, forcing the Ravens into seven errors and sealing a 3-1 victory. The Ravens took their first conference loss and exited their road trip 0-2.

Now, the Ravens head back home to face the Pace Setters this Saturday. It will be there that Lindstrom will have her chance to cement herself in Ravens' history. The first serve is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, at 1:00 p.m. in the Fieldhouse.
