Nationally Ranked #22 Men’s Soccer Falls to #14 SNHU

RINDGE, N.H. 10/25/25 - Nationally ranked #22 men's soccer and #14 Southern New Hampshire University faced off in a key NE10 conference matchup. After a second half-goal from the Penmen, the Ravens were never able to tie it back up, resulting in a 0-1 loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • In the first half, each team shot five times, evently matching each team's offensive pressure. Guillermo Avendaño (Luanco, Spain) led the charge for the Ravens early, recording three shots throughout the beginning of the game. 
  • Both teams would head into halftime tied 0-0, making the second half an important 45 minutes. 
  • In the opening minutes of the second half, Joao Araujo (Madeira, Portugal) would make his way towards goal but was unable to produce a shot. 
  • With the missed opportunity, the Penmen would strike against the Ravens on a corner, using the set piece to cross it in for Dani Gonzalez to head it past David Skorodumov (Ashland, Mass). 
  • Now with the Ravens looking for an equalizer, they would outshoot the Penmen 8-1 in the remainder of the second half, but they would be unable to capitalize, losing to an opponent at home for the first time since 2018. 

BY THE NUMBERS 

  • The Ravens outshot the Penmen 13-6. 
  • Avendaño and Stepan Fiker (Prague, Czech Republic) led the team with 3 shots each. 
  • The Ravens had 8 corners while the Penmen had 4.
  • Pierce only recorded 2 shots on goal.
