Ravens Cruise Past the Greyhounds

Rindge, N.H. (1/28/25) – The Ravens pulled away late in a back-and-forth battle between the Greyhounds in the Fieldhouse on Tuesday night, where Janessa Gonzalez (Meriden, Conn.) provides the offensive Prowess.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens jumped out to an early lead, putting the Greyhounds on their heels. Key shots in the first half from Gonzalez hitting a 3-pointer and two other shots from mid-range set the tone for the Ravens offense. Laura Johnson-Shedd comes off the bench firing for the Greyhounds keeping the game within reaching distance.
  • Both defenses strengthened in the second quarter, holding each team to under double digit points throughout the entirety of the quarter. Marina Callahan tallies her 40th block of the season as the Greyhounds were forcing turnovers as the Ravens would counter with good defense. There were 12 total turnovers in the second quarter for both teams.
  • The Ravens regained momentum in the 3rd quarter as the offense starts to click. Gonzalez hits two more 3-pointers along with Sara Macary (Naugatuck, Conn.) scoring twice.
  • The Ravens dominated the fourth quarter, building a 15-point lead. Despite additional points from Grace Leary, the Greyhounds couldn't close the gap, as the Ravens take the win 59-44.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:

  • Janessa Gonzalez led the team with 20 points. Leanna Heitmann (Syracuse, NY) had 5 rebounds and 12 points.
  • The Ravens shot 47.7% from the field. The Greyhounds shot 29.1%.
  • The Ravens shot 37.5% from the three-point line. The Greyhounds shot 18.8%.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens head over to Long Island on Saturday, February 1st as they face off against Adelphi. The tip-off is set for 1:30 PM.
