RINDGE, N.H. (9/15/24) - The Franklin Pierce Field Hockey team fell to Granite State rival Saint Anselm 6-0 in their Morgan's Message Dedication Game.

The Hawks got ahead of the Ravens early, posting two goals in the first quarter. Hawks back Ellie Brothers opened the scoring 41 seconds into the contest. Later in the 1st quarter, Hawks back Laurentien van den Akker extended Saint Anselm's lead to 2-0.

On the contrary, the Ravens had a busier day in net, posting 12 saves. Senior goalkeeper Addy Araneo (Yorktown Heights, NY) faced 11 shots, saving 7, and giving up the first four goals. Then, sophomore goalkeeper Zoë Noorlag (Amersfoort, Netherlands) entered the game and faced 6 shots on goal, saving 4, and giving up 2 goals. Araneo was charged with the loss and now posts an 0-3 record.
Despite the loss, the Ravens were able to celebrate mental health awareness through their Morgan's Message Dedication game. Morgan's Message, a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving student-athlete mental health, has chapters across the country, including here at Franklin Pierce University. The Franklin Pierce Morgan's Message Club also had an information table at the entrance of Sodexo Field, spreading the organization's message to the fans watching the game.
Up next on the Ravens' calendar are two trips to New Haven, Conn. First, the Ravens will pay a visit to the Southern Connecticut State Owls on Wednesday, September 18th. Face-Off will be at 4:00 pm.
