HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Adelphi's Payson Hedges, who was one of three Panthers to tally four goals on Saturday, opened up the game with a hat trick in the first 12 minutes. With less than a minute left in the first, senior midfielder Kayli Hoefs (Amsterdam, NY) cracked through the Panther defense for an unassisted goal to put the Ravens on the board 3-1. 40 seconds later, Adelphi grabbed their fourth and final goal of the quarter to re-extend their lead to three.
- Adelphi carried momentum into the second quarter led by Tamia Lawson who grabbed her own hat trick with three straight unanswered goals. Down 7-1, junior attacker Hayley Hermsdorf (Center Moriches, NY) chipped in a goal to bring the Ravens within five. Adelphi's Danielle Marino's squashed the momentum with her second and third goal of the game to make it a 9-2 game. Sophomore attacker Olivia Robb (East Longmeadow, MA) and Hoefs dumped in two goals in the final three minutes of the first half to bring the Ravens back within five.
- The Panthers ran away with the game in the second half fueled by a pair of four-goal streaks to start the third and the fourth quarter. Hoefs secured a hat trick half way through the third and the final goal of the game came from FPU senior attacker Olivia Delonais (North Andover, MA) but the nine goal second half from the Panthers handed the Ravens the 19-6 loss.
NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens finished their two-game road trip on Saturday and return home to Rindge on Wednesday to take on the Yellow Jackets of American International for an under-the-lights in conference showdown at 7PM.
