Men's Ice Hockey Falls to SNHU on Friday Night

HOOKSETT, NH (12/6/24) - The Franklin Pierce men's ice hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to Southern New Hampshire University on Friday night at The Ice Den Arena in Northeast-10 Conference action. Sophomore goalie Theo Jacobs made an impressive 48 saves in his collegiate debut, but the Penmen managed to find the back of the net twice, securing the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • SNHU junior Tyler Murray (Barre, Vt.) broke the scoreless tie at 10:37 of the second period with a slap shot from the slot, assisted by senior Connor Ball (Webster, N.Y.) and junior Brendan Lynch.
  • The Penmen added insurance at 13:15 of the third period during a 5-on-3 power play. Freshman Ryan Kayser (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) and junior Kurt Watson (London, Ont.) set up junior Ryan Pomposelli (Needham, Mass.) for a one-timer that found the net, marking his fourth goal of the season.
  • Despite a strong defensive effort and Jacobs' stellar goaltending, the Ravens were unable to convert on their offensive chances, being held scoreless for the 12th game this season Theo Jacobs (Franklin Pierce): 48 saves on 50 shots in his collegiate debut.
