HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens netted the first scoring chance on a break away from Claudia Peirce (Carver, Mass.) who dribbled through multiple defenders and with a stepover move got Hawk goalie Samantha Swidorski out of position and fired it into the back of the net, giving the Ravens an early 1-0 just 12 minutes in.

  • At the 62nd mark, after a cross got deflected at the top of the 18-yard box, the ball fell to the feet of Jenni Huttunen (Suomi, Finland) who took a touch and rifled one to the upper right corner of the goal extending the Raven lead to 2-0, sealing the win.

INSIDE THE LINES:

  • Senior goalkeeper Emilie Fox (Bridgewater, Mass.) would earn the win, making 5 saves in her 10th shutout of the season.

  • The Ravens and the Hawks both had 13 shots.

  • The Ravens had 6 corner kicks while the Hawks had 3.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: With today's win, the women's soccer team advances to the NE10 Championship game for the first time since 2018. The Ravens will face the winner of the other semi-final match between the Bentley Falcons and the Adelphi Panters. If the Falcons win, the Ravens would host the championship game. If the Panthers win, the Ravens would travel to Garden City, N.Y. The time of the match is TBD.
