AIC Betters Ravens 3-0 Tuesday Night

RINDGE, N.H. (10/8/24) - The Franklin Pierce volleyball team was swept by American Internation 3-0 in their seventh consecutive defeat.  

Score: Franklin Pierce 19 - American International 25, Franklin Pierce 18 - American International 25, Franklin Pierce 12 - American International 25.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Yellowjackets started the match with a hot start, getting a 13-7 lead early in the first set. The Ravens however clawed back in the set, bringing the score within two points. A combined effort from junior setter Annaka Lindstrom (Dudley, MA), junior middle-blocker Martina Spackova (Bratislava, Slovakia), and junior outside hitter Katholiki Koukia (Rhodes, Greece) brought the score to 17-15. However, the Yellowjackets would pull away and win the first set. 

  • The second set started similarly with the Yellowjackets taking an early 8-2 lead. The Ravens once again made a comeback, tying the set at 13 before the Yellowjackets once again broke away and won the second set. 

  • The third set became the final set as the Yellowjackets took command, jumping out to a 16-7 lead. From there the Yellowjackets would not look back, completing the sweep and winning their fifth straight match. The Ravens drop their seventh straight with the loss. 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • Annaka Lindstrom again led the team in assists, notching 17 on the scoresheet. 

  • Junior libero Julia Felgenhauer (Bolivar, OH) led the Ravens in digs, grabbing 9 on the night.  

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS 

The Ravens head out on the road this Saturday to face the Setters of Pace University. The match begins at 11 AM at Pace University.
