The game began as a defensive standoff, with goalkeeper Zoe Noorlag (Amersfort, Netherlands) making an early save in the first quarter. Bentley maintained offensive pressure with multiple penalty corners, but Franklin Pierce's defense held firm, keeping the game scoreless through the first half.
