Women's Soccer: Claudia Peirce Continues Dominance, Lifts Ravens to 2-0 Win Over Bentley

RINDGE, N.H. (10/02/24) – Claudia Peirce buried 2 goals leading to a 2-0 victory for the Franklin Pierce Ravens women's soccer team over the Bentley Falcons in Northeast-10 conference play Wednesday night at Sodexo Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Ravens struck first in the 23rd minute of the first half. Sophomore midfielder Jenni Huttunen (Suomi, Finland) dished a pass to junior midfielder Claudia Peirce (Carver, Mass.) who ripped a shot from just outside the box and buried a beauty in the left corner. The Ravens held on to the 1-0 lead until the halftime break. 

  • The Ravens padded their lead in the 60th minute of the second half. Claudia Peirce added her second goal of the night as she danced through a pair of Falcon defenders and buried a shot off her left foot into the left corner.  

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Ravens outshot the Falcons 15-11.  

  • Claudia Pierce recorded her 2nd multi-goal game this season.  

  • Ravens goalkeeper Emilie Fox (Bridgewater, Mass.) recorded her third consecutive shutout and her sixth of the season (8-1-0), making 8 saves in net.  

  • The Ravens took 5 corner kicks compared to 4 from the Falcons. 

  • The Ravens committed 11 fouls compared to 5 from the Falcons.  

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS:  

The Ravens travel to Worcester, Mass. on Saturday to face-off against the Assumption Greyhounds in Northeast-10 conference play. Kickoff is at 3 PM.
