10 conference wins are tied for the most in a single season in
program history
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. (April
26, 2014) – The Franklin Pierce University softball
team's doubleheader at Merrimack on Saturday in North
Andover, Mass. was cancelled due to inclement weather, and will not
be made up thus the 2014 campaign for the Ravens has come to an
end.
Franklin Pierce concluded its
season with a 12-20 overall record, a 10-14 mark in the
Northeast-10 Conference, and an 8-12 record in the Northeast
Division. The 10 conference wins are tied for the most ever in a
single season by the program.
After a rough nine game losing
streak midway through the season, the Ravens turned things around
with a 9-1 win over Southern New Hampshire on April 14, which
touched off a string of seven-consecutive wins, including a
four-game series sweep over then first-place Stonehill on April 17
and 19.
Franklin Pierce won eight of its
final 11 games to send the squad into the offseason with the goal
of going even further next season and making the NE-10
playoffs.
