Krolikowski opens season with wins
in both doubles and singles
Krolikowski opened her season with a win at first doubles and a
straight-sets win at second singles at Saint Rose on Saturday
afternoon.

ALBANY, N.Y. (September 17,
2011) – Senior Kaitlin
Krolikowski (Massapequa, N.Y.) collected wins in both
singles and doubles competition on Saturday afternoon, though the
Franklin Pierce University women's tennis team was defeated, 6-3,
at Saint Rose to begin their season with Northeast-10 Conference
play.
As the match was season opener for
both the Ravens and the Golden Knights, Franklin Pierce falls to an
0-1 start (0-1 Northeast-10) while Saint Rose begins their regular
season at 1-0 (1-0 Northeast-10).
To begin doubles competition,
Krolikowski teamed up with sophomore Natasha McCarthy
(Rindge, N.H.) to pick up the 8-3 win and get the Ravens
on the board in the first match of the day. As the Golden Knights
took the final two doubles matches, sophomore Stephanie Wilhelm and
freshman Lauren Romine each collected their first of two wins of
the day, as they would each later win in singles play.
Franklin Pierce found its first of
two singles wins in the second match as Krolikowski won, 6-4 and
6-0. It was not until the sixth match that the Ravens would find
their second win in the form of senior Mariama Bonetti
(New York, N.Y.) who took the victory in two sets, 6-4 and
7-5, to create the 6-3 final for the team match.
The Ravens return to the court on
Saturday, September 24, when they open their home season with New
Haven in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup set to begin at 1 p.m.
in Rindge, N.H.
