Ravens showed offensive firepower during games in Florida
CLERMONT, Fla. (March 18, 2011) -- The Franklin
Pierce University softball team dropped a pair of games on its
final day of action in Florida on Friday. The Ravens fell 4-1 to
Bridgeport in the day's first game, and then dropped a 7-1 decision
to Saint Michael's in the second game. Both games were played at
the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla. Franklin Pierce
concluded its Florida trip with a 2-10 record.
Despite the setbacks, Franklin Pierce at times on the trip
showed strong play at the plate and in the pitching circle. The
Ravens will look to build off that as they return to New England
and get set to take on the Northeast-10 Conference this spring.
Franklin Pierce returns to the diamond on March 29, when the
Ravens travel to Manchester to face Saint Anselm in a doubleheader
beginning at 3 p.m.
