LAURINBURG, N.C. (March 15,
2011) – Freshman attacker Julie Hemphill
(Clarkston, Mich.) gave her team a two-goal lead with what

Tuesday afternoon, as the Franklin Pierce University women's
lacrosse team pulled out a 15-14 win at St. Andrews Presbyterian in
non-conference play at Knights Field. Franklin Pierce senior
attacker Lauren Stille
(North Quincy, Mass.) and St. Andrews sophomore midfielder
Megan Jolly each piled up seven points on five goals and two

15 minutes of the first half, including a pair of goals from senior
attacker Jordan
Baillargeon (Westfield, Mass.), who would finish the day with
four points on three goals and an assist.
The second half would be a
back-and-forth affair, though the Ravens never trailed on the
afternoon. After junior midfielder Mary Kate
Stille (North Quincy, Mass.) scored 38 seconds into
the period, St. Andrews ran off the next four goals, including two
from senior attacker Brett Vyverberg, to tie the game at 10-10.
Franklin Pierce stopped the run
when sophomore midfielder Lindsey Leach

goal for Franklin Pierce throughout the rest of the contest.

14-13 with 5:09 to play, when Jolly put home her fifth and final
goal of the afternoon. Just over four minutes later, Hemphill

at 15-13. Jolly would set up the third goal of the game for senior
midfielder Kim McDaniel with 28.3 seconds to play, but the Knights
were unable to find the tying goal.
