Ravens wrap up fall season
RINDGE, N.H. (October 12,
2010) – The Franklin Pierce University men's tennis
team was defeated, 9-0, at home on Tuesday afternoon by Bentley in
Northeast-10 Conference play.
With the loss, Franklin Pierce
concludes the fall portion of its schedule at 0-6 (0-6
Northeast-10), while Bentley improves to 3-0 (3-0 Northeast-10)
with the victory.
Freshman Pat Gilhuly
(Killingworth, Conn.) had one of strongest showings on the
afternoon for the Ravens. He squared off with Bentley sophomore
Lucas Wever at first singles, but fell, 6-4, 6-1. At second
singles, junior Sam Aubin (Manchester, N.H.)
dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to junior Alec Spycher.
Five Bentley players were
victorious in both singles and doubles play on Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman Jimmy Rindo and junior Jigar Gada teamed to post an 8-0
victory at third doubles. Later, sophomore Rodrigo Ribeiro tallied
a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles.
The Ravens wrapped up the fall
portion of their season on Tuesday and will continue the 2010-11 in
the spring. Their next match is currently scheduled for March 19 at
home against Pace.
