point plateau with her six points today. She also matched the
single-season assist mark with her 14th this afternoon.

Ravens inch closer to postseason with record fourth-straight
victory

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April
21, 2009) - Franklin Pierce University is just a win away
from ending a six-year playoff drought after posting a 17-11
victory over American International College in Northeast-10
Conference women's lacrosse action at John Homer Miller Field this
afternoon.
Franklin Pierce (7-7, 4-5 NE-10),
which matches the program record for Conference wins with today's
victory, can clinch a spot in the upcoming NE-10 Tournament with a
win at Merrimack College in the regular season finale on Thursday
at 4 p.m. The Ravens can also get into the playoffs with a loss,
but would need both Saint Anselm College (5-8, 4-5 NE-10) to lose
its regular season finale at Bentley University Thursday night and
Saint Michael's College (3-10, 3-6 NE-10) to lose to American
International (3-10, 1-7 NE-10) on Thursday in Colchester, Vt.
Sophomore Lauren Stille led the Ravens with a season-high matching
eight goals.

Sophomore Jordan
Baillargeon (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) became the fifth
player in program history (and third this season) to reach the 100
career point mark as she posted five goals and an assist for six
points this afternoon - giving her 103 for her career. The assist
was her 14th of the season, matching the single-season
record set by classmate Lauren Stille (North Quincy,
Mass./North Quincy) a year ago.
Stille led the Ravens with a
season-high matching eight goals today. Freshman Brianna
Nash (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) added three goals, while
classmate Mary Kate Stille (North Quincy, Mass./North
Quincy) dished a team-best two assists. Sophomore
Jillian Benn (North Quincy, Mass./North Quincy)
chipped in with a goal and assist to go with nine ground balls and
caused six turnovers.
Freshman Jillian Bolduc
(Atkinson, N.H./Timberlane) posted 12 saves in goal as the
Ravens extended their longest winning streak in program history to
four games with their record seventh win of the season. Sophomore
Gina Gallo (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) made 17
stops for American International, who was outshot by Franklin
Pierce 43-31.
Sophomore Jillian led the defense with nine ground balls and six
caused turnovers to go with a goal and assist.

Senior Katie Warner
(Westfield, Mass./Westfield) led AIC with four goals and
an assist for five points. Sophomore Kara Kirkland
(Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) added three goals, while
freshman Katie Carr (Florence, Mass./Northampton)
chipped in two goals and an assist.
Franklin Pierce used a five goal
run midway through the first half to erase an early two-goal
deficit (4-2) and gain a three-goal advantage (7-4) after
two-straight goals from Stille with 13:34 left in the first half.
Stille had three goals in all during that stretch. American
International closed within one at halftime (9-8) as the Yellow
Jackets scored three of the final four goals of the opening frame,
including a Warner marker with just one second on the first half
clock.
After the teams traded goals over
the opening six minutes of the second half, Franklin Pierce took
control with seven-straight goals, capped by a Nash score with 8:35
to play to put the Ravens up 17-9. Baillargeon had three goals and
an assist during that stretch, while Stille netted two goals and
Benn chipped in with her goal and assist.
