Sophomore Lauren Stille broke one record, tied another and closed
in on a third as she posted six goals and three assists for nine
points to lead the Ravens past Norwich this afternoon.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 9,
2009) - Franklin Pierce University reached the four-win
mark for the first time in six seasons after collecting an
18-12 victory over Norwich University in non-conference women's
lacrosse action at Howard Field this afternoon.
Sophomore Lauren Stille
(North Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) led Franklin Pierce
with six goals and a program-record matching three assists for nine
points, while continuing to re-write the Ravens women's lacrosse
record book. In addition to matching the program's single-game
assist mark for the second time this season (third career); Stille
has set a new career assist mark with 26 in just 27 career games
played. Her team-high 12 assists this season are just two shy of
her own program record total of 14 set as a freshman. She also
moved into second place on the program's career goals list with 115
- trailing just Courtney Boardman who netted 151 goals from
2003-06.
Sophomore Jordan Baillargeon added four goals and a season-high
matching two assists for six points.

Baillargeon (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) added four goals
and a season-high matching two assists for six points for Franklin
Pierce, while classmate Ashley Moirano (South Burlington,
Vt./South Burlington) contributed a season-high matching
three goals. Freshman Brianna Nash (Oceanside,
N.Y./Oceanside) collected two goals and a season-best two
assists for four points, while classmate Mary Kate Stille
(North Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) chipped in a goal and
assist for two points.
Senior May Stoffer (New
Hartford, Conn./Watkinson) entered the match in a
three-way tie with Lauren Stille and former teammate Celine Stamets
(2005-08) atop the program's career assist list and added one today
to take over sole possession of second all-time behind Stille with
24 career helpers.
Sophomore Chelsea Martin
(Barre, Vt./Spaulding) led Norwich with four goals and an
assist for five points. Junior Ally Daniels (Concord,
N.H./Concord) also finished with five points, posting
three goals and two assists, while freshman Kacey Abbriano
(Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) chipped in three goals.
Freshman Jillian Bolduc
(Atkinson, N.H./Timberlane) made 16 saves, including 11 in
the first half, while going the distance in goal for Franklin
Pierce. Sophomore Kellie Pickel (Montpelier,
Vt./Union-32) went the full 60 minutes for Norwich and
made 21 stops, including 14 in the second half.
Freshman Jillian Bolduc made 11 of her 16 saves in the first half
as the Ravens built an early lead.

Franklin Pierce, which posts four
wins in a season for the first time since going 5-9 in 2003,
finished with a 47-38 advantage in shots for the contest. The
Ravens also recorded a narrow 16-15 edge in draw controls.
Franklin Pierce scored the first
six goals of the match and never looked back despite conceding the
last two goals of the half to carry a 6-2 lead into halftime.
Baillargeon and Nash each posted two goals and an assist during the
opening run. The game was scoreless for nearly the first five
minutes before the Ravens scored three times in a 70-second span,
with Nash playing a role in two of the goals with a goal and
assist. Lauren Stille's record-breaking 24th career
assist came on the Nash marker at 24:30.
Stille played a role in both goals,
with a goal and assist, as Franklin Pierce scored twice in the
first 1:16 of the second half. Martin scored twice in a 48-second
span to pull Norwich back within 8-4 with 25:51 to play, but the
Ravens scored seven goals, while conceding two, over the next 7:51
to take control (15-6) after Stille's third goal of the game with
18-minutes left. Stille had three goals and an assist during this
stretch, while Baillargeon added two goals and an assist.
After the teams traded three-goal
runs over the next 16 minutes, Norwich closed out the scoring with
three goals in the final 43-seconds to cap a combined 22 goal
outburst over the final 30-minutes.
Franklin Pierce (4-7, 1-5 NE-10)
returns to Northeast-10 Conference play on Wednesday when it hosts
Saint Anselm College for a key conference clash as part of "Pierce
Pride Week" on Senior Night at 6 p.m. Norwich (6-3, 5-0 GNAC) hosts
Westfield State College on Thursday at 4 p.m.
