with two assists for a season-best eight points to lead the Ravens
past Keene State this afternoon.

Baillargeon leads Ravens to second-straight win with six goals
and two assists

KEENE, N.H. (March 30,
2009) - Franklin Pierce University built a nine-goal
halftime lead and made it stand in posting a 17-14 victory over
Keene State College in non-conference women's lacrosse action at
Owl Stadium this afternoon.
Sophomore midfielder Jordan
Baillargeon (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) led Franklin
Pierce with a season-high six goals to go with two assists for a
season-best eight points. Sophomore Lauren Stille (North
Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) added four goals and a
career-high matching three assists for seven points, while
classmate Ashley Moirano (South Burlington, Vt./South
Burlington) collected two goals and a career-high matching
two assists for a career-high matching four points.
Senior Carla Savini
(Danvers, Mass./Danvers) chipped in with a goal and assist
for two points to become just the fourth player (second this
season) to reach the 100 career point plateau. She has now posted
84 goals and 17 assists for 101 career points, joining Stille as
members of this year's team to reach the career milestone.

Sophomore Emily Persano
(Somers, Conn./Somers) led Keene State with four goals.
Classmates Lauren Sawyer (Westbrook,
Maine/Westbrook) and Jamie Albert (Southington,
Conn./Southington) each added two goals and two assists
for four points.
Freshman Jillian Bolduc
(Atkinson, N.H./Timberlane) made 15 saves (nine first
half) in goal to preserve the win for Franklin Pierce. Senior
Jen Gearing (Westfield, Mass./Westfield) finished
with 12 stops in goal for Keene State. The Owls finished with a
45-29 advantage in shots for the match, including 23-13 in the
second half as they mounted their comeback effort.
Franklin Pierce, which has posted
back-to-back wins for the first time since March 2004, erased an
early two-goal deficit in racing to a 14-5 halftime advantage.
Trailing 3-1, just over 11-minutes into the match, the Ravens
scored four-straight goals to take the lead for good (5-3) with
16:46 to play in the first half. Stille notched a goal and assist
during that run.
Sophomore Lauren Stille dished a career-high matching three assists
to go with four goals for seven points.

Persano drew one back for Keene
State at the 16:07-mark, but Franklin Pierce netted five straight
goals, two from Baillargeon, to open a 10-4 lead with 5:58 left in
the half. After an Albert goal for the Owls, the Ravens scored the
final four goals of the half, including a marker from Moirano with
three-seconds to play to carry a 14-5 lead into the break. Stille
added a goal and assist during that run as well.
Keene State mounted a comeback in
the second half, scoring the first three goals of the stanza.
Franklin Pierce got two of those goals back, one each from Stille
and Baillargeon, to regain a 16-8 cushion with 15:04 to play. The
Owls then closed within 16-14 after an Albert goal with 1:46 on the
clock, but Baillargeon iced the win with her sixth goal with eight
seconds to play.
Franklin Pierce (3-3, 1-2 NE-10) is
back in action on Wednesday when it visits Saint Michael's College
for a Northeast-10 Conference match up at 4 p.m. The Ravens return
home on Sunday to host No. 2-ranked Adelphi University at Noon.
Keene State (2-6, 0-1 LEC) hosts Curry College on Thursday at 4
p.m.
