RINDGE,
N.H. (September 25, 2008) - Bentley College posted an 8-1
victory over Franklin Pierce University in Northeast-10 Conference
women's tennis action this afternoon.
Bentley swept through the three
doubles matches and never looked back in notching its first victory
of the year in the NE-10 opener for both. Senior Heather
Haggerty (Hanover, Mass./Hanover) led the double-winners
for the Falcons, notching a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles after
combining with junior Kelly Fleszar (Larchmont,
N.Y./Ursuline School) for an 8-1 triumph at first doubles.
Senior Marica Gildbride (Topsham, Maine/Mount
Ararat), sophomore Cheryl Martin (Pittsfield,
Mass./St. Joseph's Central) and freshman Kara
Murphy (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) were also double-winners
for the visitors.
Freshman Kaitlin
Krolikowski (Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony's) picked up the
point for Franklin Pierce, grinding out a 4-6, 7-6 (7-2), 10-7 win
at No. 3 singles.
Franklin Pierce (0-1, 0-1 NE-10) is
back in action on Sunday when it hosts the University of New Haven
at 1 p.m. Bentley (1-2, 1-0 NE-10) returns to the courts on Sunday,
when it visits Le Moyne College at 11 a.m.
