Parnell records 11 kills

RINDGE, N.H. (September 15,
2008) – Junior Caitlynn Parnell (Medina, Texas/Medina)
tallied a match-high 11 kills on Monday night to lead the Franklin
Pierce University volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Post in
non-conference action at Franklin Pierce's Fieldhouse.
Freshman Rosie Fernandez (Rahway, N.J./Rahway) recorded a
match-best 14 digs on the evening for Post.
Franklin Pierce swept through the match with set scores of 25-16,
25-20 and 25-12.
Parnell was the only Raven to reach double digits with her 11
kills. She worked primarily off the set of senior Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Adolfo
Camarillo), who dished out a match-high 31 assists.
Sophomore Chelsie Kohout (Harrison
Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) led Franklin Pierce
with 12 digs. Senior Nicole
Buchholz (Broadlands, Va./Stone Bridge) was next behind
Parnell with eight kills of her own and added a match-best three
service aces.
Fernandez led a pair of Post players in double figures with 14
digs. She was joined by sophomore Natasha Loving (Bronx,
N.Y./Kennedy), who recorded 10 digs and led the Eagles with six
kills. Freshman Taylor Doyle (Mystic, Conn./Fitch) led post with 19
assists.
The Ravens (3-6, 1-0 NE-10) return to the court on Wednesday,
Sept. 17, when they host Merrimack in a Northeast-10 Conference
contest. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Fieldhouse in
Rindge, N.H. Post (1-7, 0-0 CACC) returns to action on Sept. 17 at
home against Bloomfield.
