RINDGE, N.H. (April 15,
2008) - Stonehill College won all nine
matches in taking a 9-0 victory over Franklin Pierce University in
Northeast-10 Conference women's tennis action on Tuesday afternoon
at the Franklin Pierce tennis courts.
The Skyhawks only dropped a
combined six games on the afternoon, three each in singles and
doubles play. The duo of senior Elise Clark (Spring Lake,
N.J./Saint Rose) and freshman Lindsey Herchel (Hampden,
Mass./Minnechaug Regional) each won a pair of matches with dropping
a single game for Stonehill. The pair teamed up for an 8-0 victory
in second doubles play to begin their day, before splitting up to
earn 6-0, 6-0 victories at first singles and fourth singles,
respectively.
Franklin Pierce's season comes to a
close with the loss, dropping the team to 0-15 overall and 0-12 in
conference play in 2007-08. Stonehill (13-4, 9-2 NE-10) hosts
Dowling College on Thursday at 3 p.m.
