Two Ravens in double digits offensively

Nicole Buchholz hammered out a match-best 17 kills on Tuesday
against Southern New Hampshire.

RINDGE, N.H. (October 7, 2008) –
Senior Nicole Buchholz
(Broadlands, Va./Stone Bridge) collected a match-high 17
kills on Tuesday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University
volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire in
Northeast-10 Conference play at Franklin Pierce's Fieldhouse.
Senior Brianna Doucet (Danville, N.H./Timberlane) led Southern New
Hampshire in defeat with 10 kills.
Franklin Pierce won the opening set, 25-15, but immediately dropped
the second set, 25-16. From there, the Ravens won the third and
fourth sets 25-17 and 25-9, respectively, to close out the
match.
Buchholz was one of two to notch double figures on the evening for
Franklin Pierce as junior Katie
Ristow (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian) posted 12 kills of her
own. Both worked primarily off the set of senior Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Adolfo
Camarillo) and her match-best 44 assists. Sophomore Chelsie Kohout (Harrison Township,
Mich./L'Anse Creuse) led the defensive efforts with a
match-high 17 digs while Buchholz led the Ravens with three
blocks.
For Southern New Hampshire, Doucet led the way with 10 kills in the
match. The Penmen offense ran through two setters, with junior Kim
Rowe (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) and senior Nicky Dumond (Tewksbury,
Mass./Notre Dame Academy) dishing out 17 and 11 assists,
respectively. Defensively for Southern New Hampshire, junior Ashley
Dingle (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy) recorded 11 digs while
freshman Danielle Coffey (Westborough, Mass./Westborough) posted a
match-best six blocks.
The Ravens (9-13, 2-4 NE-10) return to the court on Saturday, Oct.
11 for a pair of matches in New York. Franklin Pierce will play at
Pace in a Northeast-10 Conference match at 1 p.m. before playing at
non-conference opponent Adelphi at 6 p.m. Southern New Hampshire
(5-8, 2-3 NE-10) returns to action on Oct. 11 at home against
Assumption.
