RINDGE, N.H. (October 21,
2007) – Merrimack College defeated Franklin Pierce
University by a score of 9-0 in a Northeast-10 Conference
women's tennis match at the Franklin Pierce tennis courts on
Sunday afternoon.
Merrimack's Stellina Saia and Caitlin Dunn (Middleton,
Mass./Masconomet) led the dual winners for the visiting Warriors,
as the duo began the day by teaming up for an 8-2 first-doubles
victory over senior CoCo Minott (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper
Perkiomen) and freshman Lauren Smilovich (Meriden,
Conn./Sacred Heart Academy).
Dunn had to work for her second win of the day at first singles,
as she took the first set, 6-1, against Minott before the Ravens
senior battled back to take the second set by a 6-3 score. Dunn
rebounded in the ensuing tiebreaker, however, winning, 10-4.
