Ravens reach 30-win
plateau for fifth-straight year in record time
RINDGE, N.H. (April 20,
2006) - Franklin Pierce, ranked 15th in both

Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II polls,

victory over American International College in Northeast-10
Conference baseball action at AIC Park this afternoon.
Franklin Pierce reaches the 30-win

breaking open a 2-1 game with five runs in the seventh. Senior

Hills) picked up his sixth win of the season (6-1),
allowing an earned run, while scattering eight hits to go with
seven strikeouts and no walks in a complete game effort.

Hills) paced the Ravens offense as he hit 2-for-5
with a double, triple, stolen base and four RBI. Senior

N.H./Londonderry) was 2-5 with a double
(school-record 20th of the season) and two runs scored,
while classmate Randy Fenton (Worcester,

extend his team-leading hitting streak to 11 games. Senior

record of 24 set last

(South Hadley, Mass./South Hadley) and
Jon Ferry (Thorndike, Mass./Palmer) each
hit 2-for-4 for American International. Freshman Kevin
Farrell (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug) was 1-3 with an
RBI.
Junior right-hander

Jackets (3-1) as he was touched for six runs, five earned, on eight
hits with five strikeouts and two walks over 6.2 innings.
Franklin Pierce grabbed a 2-0 lead
with single runs in the second and third. Freshman
Scott Savastano (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth
North) reached on an error to lead off the second and
later scored as result of an outfield error on a single from
sophomore Matt Anderson (Medford,
Mass./Medford). Back-to-back doubles from Chambers
and Olson with one out resulted in the Ravens run in the third.
AIC cut the lead in half in the
sixth as junior Tyler Cooke (Brattleboro,
Vt./Brattleboro) led off with a single and later
scored on Farrell's one-out single. Franklin Pierce broke the game
open with five in the seventh. An error and two singles loaded the
bases for Olson, who emptied them with a two-out triple. Senior
All-American Bryan Duplissie (East Swanzey,
N.H./Monadnock) followed with an RBI double and later
scored on a Savastano single.
