Christina Collett totaled 13 kills over two matches on Saturday at
the Florida Southern Moccasins Classic.

LAKELAND, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2005) –
Franklin Pierce dropped two more matches on the second day of the
Florida Southern Mocs Classic today. The Ravens dropped a pair of
3-0 decisions to Rollins College and Mount Olive College.
Rollins handed Franklin Pierce a 3-0 (30-21, 30-17, 30-24) in the
Ravens first match of the day. Junior outside hitter Julia Caner
(Boca Raton, Fla./Olympic Heights) led the attack for the Tars
registering 12 kills and 15 digs. Freshman Lacey Malarky (Lawrence,
Kan./Free State) aided Rollins by contributing a match high 42
assists, eight digs, three kills, and two service aces.
Freshman outside hitter Emily
Schultz (Salem, Wis./Central Westosha) was solid for
Franklin Pierce, as she totaled six kills and six digs. The Ravens
also got solid contributions from freshman setter Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo,
Calif./Camarillo), with 17 assists and four digs, while
junior outside hitter Christina
Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Tombstone) totaled six kills and
four digs.
In its final match of the Classic, Franklin Pierce battled, but
dropped a 3-0 (30-27, 30-24, 30-18) decision to Mount Olive.
Senior Heidi Busch (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) paced the
Mount Olive attack with 15 kills and 12 digs. Junior Anna Luft
(Swansboro, N.C./Swansboro) contributed eight kills, four service
aces and three digs. Senior Sara Christie (Champaign,
Ill./Champaign Central) guided the offense with a match-high 35
assists, while adding three aces and seven digs.
Freshman Nicole Buchholz
(Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) led Franklin Pierce with ten
kills, while Shultz added eight more kills and a match-high 13
digs. Collett contributed seven kills and six digs, while freshman
Caroline Ehorn (Orange,
Conn./Amity Regional) dished 15 assists.
Franklin Pierce (0-4, 0-0 NE-10) is back in action on Tuesday for
a non-conference battle at Keene State College at 7 p.m. The Ravens
open their home schedule on Wednesday against Stonehill College at
7 p.m.
