Buchholz leads Ravens in victory with 17 kills

Nicole Buchholz piled up a team-best 17 kills and a match-high
four blocks on Sunday against Le Moyne.

RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 9, 2005) – The
Franklin Pierce volleyball team breezed past Le Moyne College,
sweeping all three games, 3-0 (30-16, 30-18, 30-19) in Northeast-10
volleyball action this afternoon at the Franklin Pierce field
house.
Franklin Pierce freshman Nicole
Buchholz (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) led the Ravens attack,
registering 17 kills in 28 attempts (.607 pct.). Buchholz also had
a game high four blocks. Classmate Karissa Hookdstadt (Camarillo,
Calif./Camarillo) was also solid for the Ravens, totaling 35
assists, four kills, and three blocks in the match.
Seniors Jessica Ward (Clinton,
Conn./The Morgan School) and Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./The Morgan
School) made significant contributions in the match. Ward
collected 12 kills and 11 digs, while Vece pitched in with 21 digs
and an ace.
Le Moyne College senior Lindsey Fattey (Lancaster, N.Y./St.
Mary's) led the Dolphins with seven kills and eight digs in
the match up. Senior Amanda McClure (Painted Post, N.Y./Burnt
Hills) chipped in with 10 digs and 11 assists for the Dolphins.
Franklin Pierce (7-10, 5-3 NE-10) returns to action Tuesday when
it travels to Merrimack College for a match starting at 7 p.m. Le
Moyne College (15-6, 5-3 NE-10) will host Bryant University next
Sunday for a match starting at 3 p.m.
