SMITHFIELD, R.I. (Sept. 7, 2004) – The Franklin Pierce volleyball team was defeated 3-0 (30-22, 30-20, 30-25) by host Bryant University in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action this evening. With the victory, the Bulldogs now have an overall record of 6-1 and improve to 3-0 in the conference.

Junior defensive specialist Tara Vece (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) led the Ravens with 22 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Christina Collett (Tombstone, Ariz./Tombstone) collected ten kills. Sophomore setter Kathleen Tryon (Tilton, N.H./Winnisquam) came off the bench to lead the team with 12 assists.

Franklin Pierce (1-5, 0-2 NE-10) returns to action Friday, when they host Northeast-10 Conference foe Saint Michael's College at 7 p.m. in the Northfields Activity Center.
