NEW HAVEN, Conn. (October 22, 2003) – The Franklin Pierce
University field hockey team fell to Southern Connecticut 1-0 in
Northeast-10 Conference field hockey action this evening.
Junior captain Cori Krajewski (Carmel, N.Y./Carmel) scored the
game winner for Southern Connecticut State, the lone goal in the
contest, off a pass from senior captain Renee Mazzarella (New
Milford, Conn./New Milford) with 14:18 remaining in regulation.
Sophomore goalkeeper Brandi
Guertin (Bellingham, Mass./Bellingham) made six saves for
the Ravens despite the loss. Senior Sarah Dube (Northampton,
Mass./Northampton) made three saves in the victory for the
Owls.
Franklin Pierce (9-8, 8-7 NE-10) returns to action on Saturday as
it travels to Bentley College for a Conference match at 10 a.m.
