WORCESTER, Mass. (September 18, 2001) - Assumption College defeated Franklin Pierce College, 3-0 (30-21, 30-26, 30-22) in Northeast-10 Conference volleyball action at the Plourde Activities Center tonight.

Junior Lindsay Ryan (Warwick, R.I./Toll Gate) led Assumption with nine kills and seven blocks, while senior setter Anna Mattson (Center Harbor, N.H./Inter-Lakes) dished out 38 assists.

Junior outside hitter Mandy Johnson (Orange, Mass./Mahar Regional) led Franklin Pierce with a match-high 11 kills, to go along with five blocks, three digs and two aces. Classmate Catrina Cuevas (Puyallup, Wash./J.J. O'Neill, N.Y.) totaled eight kills, seven assists and five digs, while sophomore setter Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) dished 12 assists, seven digs and two block assists.

FP (0-3, 0-3 NE-10) returns to action on Thursday when they travel to the University of Bridgeport for a match at 7 p.m.
