RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 2, 2001) - The
Franklin Pierce University volleyball team fell to American
International College by a score of 3-0 this evening.
Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was senior Sarah Neaves with
14 kills and nine digs, while classmate Suzy Mattson recorded 46
assists and six digs. Deena Little contributed six kills and four
blocks, and freshman Courtney Bliss tallied 11 kills and eight digs
in the win.
Junior Mandy Johnson (Orange,
Mass./Maher Regional) totaled 14 kills, seven digs, and two
blocks, and classmate Catrina
Cuevas (Puyallup, Wash./J.J. O'Neill N.Y.) added ten
assists, ten digs, and five kills for the Ravens. Sophomore Bethany Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan
School) registered 15 assists.
FP was lead defensively by senior Johanna Schubert (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Ann
School) who notched 12 digs.
The Ravens return to action on Friday, when they host Southern
Connecticut State in a NE-10 matchup in the FP Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
