Roscoe Sweeney

Roscoe Sweeney enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Franklin Pierce University men's ice hockey team in 2015-16.

A four-year letterwinner here at Franklin Pierce (bio), Sweeney makes his collegiate coaching debut with his alma mater. One of the most-decorated players in program history, Sweeney graduated as the school's all-time leader in both assists (55) and points (92), while also ranking second in goals (37), tied for second in shorthanded goals (3), tied for seventh in power-play goals (11) and tied for 12th in games played (87). As a freshman in 2009-10, he matched the program record for assists in a single season (19). Sweeney burst on to the Northeast-10 Conference scene early in his career, with back-to-back 31-point seasons as a freshman (12-19-31) and sophomore (14-17-31).

A two-time team captain, Sweeney led the team in its most successful season to-date, as the Ravens put together a run to the Northeast-10 title game in his senior season of 2012-13. His 8-17-25 performance during his final campaign earned him All-Northeast-10 Conference Second Team and All-Championship Team honors, which was his second All-Conference nod after earning First Team accolades as a sophomore. Sweeney was also named Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year at the conclusion of his freshman season. In the classroom, he was a six-time selection to the Northeast-10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll.

Originally from Falmouth, Mass., Sweeney graduated from Franklin Pierce in 2013 and is currently pursuing his master's degree at the University.
