Casey Cosgroveenters his third season in 2013-14 as the assistant coach for theFranklin Pierce men's basketball team. He also spent part of lastseason serving as the assistant coach for the women's program, andwill continue those duties as well this year.
In his first two seasons on thecoaching staff, Cosgrove has helped guide Franklin Pierce to a pairof NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, including the 2013 EastRegional Championship and a berth in the Elite Eight. Two yearsago, he helped lead Franklin Pierce to the Northeast-10 ConferenceRegular Season Championship. The Ravens have also postedback-to-back 20 win seasons during his tenure.
Cosgrove came to the Ravens benchin 2011 after an impressive playing career for Adelphi University.Cosgrove initially attended Division I Quinnipiac University on afull basketball scholarship, but transferred to Adelphi and earnedAll-East Coast Conference Second-Team honors in 2009. He served asa team captain for the Panthers and was his squad's MVP.
Cosgrove graduated from Adelphi inMay 2010 with a bachelor's degree in sports management. Aftergraduation he served as a volunteer assistant coach at TrinityCollege in Hartford, Conn. He then spent time as a coach andtrainer for the Rising Stars AAU program in Flushing, N.Y. Whileworking with the Rising Stars, he constructed game and practiceplans, trained athletes individually and scheduled tournaments andpractices.
Cosgrove also has experienceworking with various summer camps and leagues as a coach andcounselor. He recently completed his MBA from Franklin PierceUniversity in 2013.
