RINDGE, N.H. (6/17/26) – Franklin Pierce University Athletics has announced the addition of a men's club hockey program, creating a new opportunity for students to compete, build community, and represent the University through one of New England's most popular sports.
The program is scheduled to begin competition in the fall of 2027 and reflects Franklin Pierce's commitment to enhancing the student experience through expanded opportunities for involvement both on and off the field of play. The addition also supports institutional priorities related to enrollment growth, student engagement, and strategic program development.
The club hockey program will offer a competitive environment for students interested in representing Franklin Pierce while competing against other collegiate club programs throughout the region. In addition to competition, the program will provide opportunities for leadership, student organization involvement, and campus engagement.
Men's club ice hockey is well established across the Northeast and broader New England region, with many comparable institutions sponsoring American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) programs and competing in leagues such as the Northeast Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA). This structure provides immediate access to regional competition and established recruiting pipelines.
Franklin Pierce will join a strong network of nearby institutions with club hockey opportunities, creating a sustainable model for scheduling, travel, and long-term program viability. The regional footprint allows the University to capitalize on New England's rich hockey tradition while providing students with a meaningful collegiate playing experience.
The addition aligns with the University's ongoing efforts to expand student opportunities and respond to interests that support enrollment growth, student retention, and overall campus life. By introducing men's club hockey, Franklin Pierce will further enhance campus engagement while creating another avenue for students to compete and represent the Crimson and Grey.
New England remains one of the nation's premier regions for hockey participation, creating a strong foundation for recruiting prospective students interested in continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level. The new program will allow Franklin Pierce to tap into that established hockey culture while providing a competitive and rewarding experience for current and future Ravens.
Additional information regarding roster opportunities, competition schedules, league affiliation, and program leadership will be announced in the coming months.
