HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Adelphi set the tone early with a 25–6 opening quarter behind efficient perimeter shooting, including 4-for-9 from three in the period. The Ravens responded with an improved defensive effort in the second quarter, limiting the Panthers to nine points and finding momentum at the free-throw line to head into halftime trailing 34–17.
  • Franklin Pierce put together its strongest stretch coming out of the break, scoring 18 points in the third quarter while attacking inside and converting at the stripe. Despite the offensive bump, Adelphi countered with another 25-point frame to maintain separation. The fourth quarter again showed competitive push from the Ravens—who scored 15 more—but the early gap proved too much to overcome. Franklin Pierce finished the afternoon shooting 41.0% from the field and 38.5% from three, while Adelphi capitalized on second-chance opportunities and points off turnovers to preserve the win.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
  • Nafi Balde provided an efficient spark for the Ravens, shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from the field while adding six rebounds and five points to help stabilize Franklin Pierce's interior play.
  • As a team, Franklin Pierce shot 41.0% from the floor, including 38.5% from three, compared to Adelphi's 32.6% field-goal rate. The difference came in possessions: Adelphi held a 20–10 edge in points off turnovers and a 12–8 margin in second-chance points, creating separation despite the Ravens' improved shooting efficiency.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Franklin Pierce women's basketball will take on non-conference play when they travel to Caldwell University, Saturday. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.
