COLCHESTER, Vt. (1/11/25) – In a matchup between two teams vying to climb out of the lower half of the Northeast-10 standings, the Franklin Pierce women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance, defeating Saint Michael's 61-43 at the Ross Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Janessa Gonzalez (Meridan, Conn.) opened the scoring with a basket to put the Ravens up 2-0, but the Purple Knights quickly responded with back-to-back baskets for a 4-2 lead.
- Geanna Bryant (Boston, Mass.) tied the game at 4-4 with a solo drive to the hoop, and Sara Macary (Naugatuck, Conn.) followed with a layup to extend the lead to 8-4, a score that held through the first quarter.
- LyNeta Brand (West Haven, Conn.) hit two consecutive jumpers from the elbow to give the Ravens their largest lead so far, 12-6.
- Colette Mulderig (Scranton, Pa.) sank four straight free throws late in the second quarter, and Bryant capped the half with a steal and layup, giving the Ravens a 21-12 advantage at the break.
- The second half began with back-and-forth scoring, but Macary's floaters and layups helped the Ravens build a 10-point lead.
- Bryant hit a three-pointer to extend the Ravens' lead to 35-20, and they led by as much as 17 points in the third quarter, finishing the frame ahead 40-25.
- In the fourth quarter, Bryant continued her stellar performance, scoring two early baskets and a three-pointer from Paige Slaven (Long Beach Island, N.J.), bringing her total to 19 points.
- Bryant added another three-pointer, followed by a driving layup from Macary, pushing the lead to 51-37. The Ravens sealed the game with free throws, winning 61-43.
