Men's and Women's Cross Country Hosted 12th Annual Bruce Krish Cross Country Cup

HOPKINTON, N.H. (10/11/24) - The Franklin Pierce University men's and women's cross country team's hosted their annual home meet on Friday. The women's team came home ninth, out of 15 teams, in the 6k race while the men's team came home fourth, out of 13 teams, in the 8k race at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

The women's 6k race would be the first the race with a noon start. The first to cross the line for the Ravens was first year Hailey Desmarais (Assonet, Mass.) who took 22nd overall for her 23:34.40 performance. Junior runner Jasmin Baillargeon (South Wheelock, Vt.) was next to cross, as she finished 44th for her 25:10.76 time. She was followed shortly after by junior Tatum Seastrand, who claimed 47th for her 25:18 time. Senior Meghan Sheline (Southington, Conn.) ran a time of 26:29.14 to claim 60th overall. In 72nd, it was first year Isabella Generelli (Worcester, Mass.) who crossed the line with a time of 27:06.06. The top five Franklin Pierce finishers added up to 209 points for the Ravens, who finished in ninth out of 15 teams. Following in 29:39.28 was first year Lauren Muldoon (Hampton, N.H.), who took 91st. First Year Lillian Byrne would complete the finishing for the Ravens with a time of 35:49.69.  

The men's would follow the women at approximately 1:20 PM. Senior Ryan Outerbridge (Paget, Bermuda) would cross the finish line first for the Ravens in 12th place with a time of 25:47. Next for the Ravens would be Angel Mendo Alonso (Malaga, Spain) in 23rd with a 26:24 performance. First year Sam Fortin (Hebron, Conn.) would follow with a time of 26:43 to land in 29th overall. Shortly after, senior Harrison Pelosi (Gloucester, Mass.) would finish in 32nd with a performance of 26:51. Sophomore John Viens (Berkshire, Vt.) would be next in 43rd with a time of 27:13. The Ravens would collect 121 points from their top five finishers to land fourth out of 13 completed teams.  

Following in 54th place would be sophomore Liam Doherty (Methuen, Mass.) with a time of 27:40 along with Logan Mihelich (Northwood, N.H.) in 64th.  Riley Tremblay (Mansfield, Mass.), Declan Morgan (West Springfield, Mass.) and Aidan Healy (Bedford, N.H.) would close out the finishing for the Ravens.  

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The cross country teams will take a few weeks off from competition to prepare for the Northeast-10 Championships. The teams return to Hopkinton Fair Grounds when they host the championships. The meet is scheduled for Sunday, October 27th.
