Men's Soccer: Ravens Head Back to the Elite 8 with Dominant 3-0 Win Over Post

Rindge, N.H. (11/30/2023) -- The Franklin Pierce men's soccer team advanced to their second straight trip to the Elite Eight with a strong team 3-0 win over the four seeded Post University Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • With just around two minutes remaining in the first half, strong team play from Lucio Yahia and Pedro Bronco set up Aaron Sanchez who scored the first goal of the game.  

  • Sanchez would net the second Raven goal at the 57th minute mark at the top of the eighteen and rocketed it in for a 2-0 lead.  

  • To conclude, Caleb Williams put the nail in the coffin at the 78th minute mark, extending the Raven lead and securing the win.  

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: 

  • Karl Vernet (Miami, FL.) earned the shutout after he only faced three shots on net but stopped every one with ease. Soren Jensen faced 6 shots and made 3 saves. 

  • The Ravens outshot the Eagles 12-6. 

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: 

  • The Ravens look to secure their second straight trip to the Final Four in their title defense versus 6 seed Gannon University Saturday at 4 pm.
