Phataraprasit nets lone goal,
Papageorgiou posts fifth shutout

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (October
18, 2008) - Defending NCAA Division II Champion Franklin
Pierce University, ranked tenth in this week's National Soccer
Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Division II East
Regional poll, notched a 1-0 victory over the University of New
Haven in Northeast-10 Conference men's soccer action at Kayo Field
this afternoon.
Sophomore back Adit
Phataraprasit (Bangkok, Thailand) scored the lone goal of
the match for Franklin Pierce in the 33rd minute, when
he took a pass from senior Frantz Francois (Saint-Marc,
Haiti/Palm Beach Lakes (Fla.)) and scored his second goal
of the season from just outside the six. The Ravens out-shot New
Haven 11-0 in the first half and finished with an 18-5 advantage
for the match.
Freshman goalkeeper Vinny
Papageorgiou (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington) made one save
to preserve his fifth shutout of the season for Franklin Pierce.
Freshman Jonathan Creem (Naugatuck,
Conn./Naugatuck) stopped eight shots in goal to keep New
Haven in the match.
Franklin Pierce (9-6-1, 7-2-1
NE-10) returns to action on Wednesday, when it hosts Bentley
College for its final regular season home match of the season at 7
p.m. New Haven (3-11-0, 2-8-0 NE-10) travels to Stonehill College
on Wednesday for a match at 3:30 p.m.
